For those sending packages to missionaries:

When filling out the customs declaration for shipment it is better to be conservative on your value declaration.  Any package with a declared value higher than or equal to 40 € will be taxed a minimum 21% duty.  This money is charged upon delivery of the package and thus comes out of the missionaries’ pocket.  Sentimental value does not have any monetary conversions in customs declarations.  Be conservative.
